How to Care for a Small Parrot

Small parrots need just as much attention as large parrots such as macaws and cockatoos. They need at least three to four hours of your time out of the cage. More is recommended if you have the time. Small parrot does not mean "beginner parrot". You should nuy a bird based on what bird you like and what bird likes you or whether you can afford one. Most people cannot afford a Hyacinth Macaw because they can be 20,000 dollars but can afford a similar parrot, like a Mini Macaw. Mini macaws are small to meduim birds but they require less money and space, not care and time. Some other small parrots such as the Rosella are considered decorative, but it is not true. No animal is just a decoration, this includes Parrots, Canaries, Finches, Rodents, and even frogs and lizards. All animals have intelligence and need time out of a cage. Never get a parrot just for it's looks, they are very intelligent animals, about as intelligent as a five or six year old person, and need time out of the cage or aviary.
