Carolina Conures

                                          Carolina Conures

Carolina Conures or parakeets were a species of conure that lived in Eastern U.S.A.  They were officially extinct since 1918 when the last one in captivity died. They were the parrot which was native to cooler climates as far as Michigan. People would hunt them for their feathers to put them on hats. People also considered them as pests because sometimes they would eat crops. They had an orange - yellow head and green body. Some scientists are thinking about bringing them back with their genes by taking the egg of a sun conure and genes of a Carolina Parakeet. They would create a clone. There is argument on whether they would fail to populate, survive or overpopulate.
