Bird's Intelligence

                                   The Bird's Intelligence

Some birds are known to be the most intelligent animals in the world. Some African Grey parrots have even learned English words and what know their meaning and they formed short sentences. Alex said "What color am I?" and understood the answer after someone said the answer "Grey" six times. If you think about it, they have learned our language but we have not learned theirs' yet. They learn our language simply by listening to us say it. Imagine how hard it would be to learn another species language by just hearing it spoken. Then imitating it perfectly. African Greys have been known to learn all the colors and to organize them by command. That means they can understand what we are saying. Einstein, who was also an African Grey, called cake sweet bread before he knew that it was called cake.  Alex also calls apples Banaerrys, or the combination of banana and cherry. they have also learned to count objects. Alex and Einstein have been taught how to count the amount of wood blocks based on their color or shape.

This is not about parrots, but, the Corvid family birds and mynas have been known to be highly intelligent. Crows have been known to use sticks as tools to pull insects out of rotting logs. This is like what many apes do as well, but the corvids have also been known to talk just like parrots. Mynas and ravens have been known to have small "conversations" with their owner. They have a brain that is smaller than a walnut and are smarter than most animals on Earth. Crows in Japan have been known to drop walnuts on roads when the cars are driving to crack them and then picking the them up after they crack. They have also learned how to use a "vending machine" made for birds. They use a certain sized piece of paper to put in the top to get food out the bottom. Crows also use water displacement to get floating objects or to drink the water.
