Monk Parakeet, Myiopsitta

The genus Myiopsitta contains one species, the Monk parakeet or otherwise known as Quaker parakeet. They are Least concern and their population is increasing. In many countries they are considered an invasive species. Thy adapt well to other climates and live in places such as the US and Spain. There are small populations from escaped pets. the Indian Ringneck Parakeet or Rose-ringed Parakeet is also considered an invasive species.
